Carson has always been fascinated by space. She attended her first space camp at the age of seven and went on to attend six more. She is the only person to have attended every NASA space camp, including those in Turkey and Canada.
At the age of 16, Carson participated in the Advanced PoSSUM (Project Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere) Space Academy. At 18, she earned her pilot’s license. She has also trained in water survival, g-force training, microgravity flights, scuba diving, and decompression training.
Carson attended classes focused on space physiology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She received her bachelor’s degree in astrobiology from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2023. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Space and Planetary Science at the University of Arkansas.
Carson’s goal is to become the first person on Mars. She is a role model for many young people who aspire to be astronauts and scientists. She is also a reminder that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
